Sports massage, deep tissue massage and soft tissue therapy shouldn’t be painful – there may be a mild discomfort associated with it but it should feel like a good release. If the pressure is too much and you feel pain then feel free to let me know – if your body is bracing against the pain then the massage is counter productive.

I don’t do acupuncture as such but dry needling which uses acupuncture needles. This link provides a good explanation. I find dry needling to be an effective modality for areas of tension within the fascia and muscles, but I don’t always feel it is necessary or appropriate within ever treatment and it’s a contraindication for some conditions. Of course, dry needling is entirely optional and your choice as to whether to have it if offered.
